Absolutely loved the Yakuza references during the karaoke segment

Since reviews aren’t public, here’s my take on this game :)

Spoiler-free Review of version 1.0

Disclaimer: I associate with this game’s creator, Double Moon. This game however was made before my association with them, and as such I did not take part in its development.

Overview

Love Change is a short game that takes about 2 hours to go from beginning to one of the multiple endings if you take your time reading it.

The game is an interactive story-driven narrative, where the main character Chris wakes up gender-swapped after experimenting with some potion. The story itself is pretty basic for the gender-swapping type of games however the narration, interactions with the secondary characters and the overall rhythm of the game make it very enjoyable.

The branching aspect is a key component in this game, since there are about 20+ different endings. Some choices are very minor, but others are so major that characters could become unavailable. This adds a lot of replayability, and an incentive to check out every possible route.

Improvement points

This game was Double Moon’s first project, and as such can be a bit quirky or lacking, especially on the technical aspect. I have confirmed with the creator that this was mostly due to inexperience, since their later works solve them.

  • No sound/music ;

  • No animation ;

  • No gallery/replay event system ;

  • A few misspells here-and-there.

Overall

Very good game, which is currently in a finished state and that I recommend playing to anyone who enjoys branching stories. I know I said this review would not contain spoilers, but I confirmed with the creator that this project could be updated with most of the improvement points solved. Please look forward to it~ ♥
